The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a separator having a water-based binder adhesive layer and the separator manufactured thereby. The separator comprises a porous coating layer having a porous polymer substrate whose at least one surface includes organic/inorganic particles. According to the manufacturing method, polyolefin-based wax is dispersed in water to be applied to the porous coating layer to form an adhesive layer. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a separator having an adhesive layer capable of enhancing adhesiveness between the separator and an electrode.
