The present invention relates to a protein derived from mistletoe, a pharmaceutical composition and a functional food which has activity of preventing and treating obesity and contains the protein as an active ingredient, and investigation of the protein. More specifically, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a protein derived from mistletoe, with the molecular weight of 6 kDa measured by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), a functional food and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating obesity, containing the protein as an active ingredient.
