The present invention relates to a pre-mounted exchange insert of a drill wash device for connecting a stationary washpipe to a rotating washpipe of a drill hole, the exchange insert comprising a mechanical seal assembly (2) with a stationary seal ring (20) and a rotating seal ring (21), a first seal ring carrier (3) on which the stationary seal ring (20) is arranged, a second seal ring carrier (4) on which the rotating seal ring (21) is arranged, a connection component (5) which is configured to connect the exchange insert to the stationary washpipe, and an adjusting mechanism (6) operative in axial direction (X-X) with a screw connection (60) for changing an axial length (L1, L2) of the exchange insert, wherein the screw connection (60) is connected to the second seal ring carrier (4) to permit, in axial direction (X-X), an adjustment of the second seal ring carrier (4), the mechanical seal assembly (2), and the first seal ring carrier (3) relative to the connection component (5).
