An apparatus and a method for editing an electronic document to support Chinese word input are disclosed. According to embodiments, a plurality of Chinese words and a plurality Korean words, configured to pronounce the Chinese words by using Korean characters, are correspondingly saved in a database. When a user inputs Korean characters to express even a part of certain Chinese word′s pronunciation on an electronic document, at least one Chinese word, which includes the Korean characters as a relevant part of pronunciation of the same, is extracted from the database and provided to the user. Accordingly, the user conveniently inputs the part of the pronunciation of the Chinese words on the electronic document by using the Korean characters. As a result, the apparatus is able to help the user to easily input Chinese words which the user wants to input on the electronic document. |
