PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an engine width to ensure a bank angle.SOLUTION: A multi-cylinder engine 10 includes: a crank case 11 storing a crank shaft 12; a plurality of crank chambers 20a-20d sectioned for each cylinder by a partition wall 21 in the crank case 11; an idle shaft drive gear 25 journaled to the crank shaft 12; and an idle shaft driven gear 26 engaged to the idle shaft drive gear 25.
