The present invention relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a bidirectional forwarding detection control method and apparatus, which are invented to solve the problem in the prior art of unnecessary resource waste caused by the fact that link protection switching is easily mis-triggered in bidirectional forwarding detection maintenance. The method comprises: when receiving a bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) deletion instruction of a user, a first end device sends a BFD deletion instruction message to a second end device; and the first end device stops sending a BFD detection packet to the second end device according to the BFD deletion instruction. |
