Provided is an assembly method for a worm reduction gear in which a worm wheel (15) is rotatably supported within a wheel accommodation section (19), a pair of rolling bearings (16c, 16d) are externally fitted to the tip section and a base end-side part of a worm (14), and while in a state in which said worm (14) is offset outward in the radial direction of the worm wheel (15) with respect to the central axis of a worm accommodation section (17), the worm (14) is inserted into the worm accommodation section (17) from an opening side, the rolling bearing (16c) that is externally fitted to the tip section of the worm (14) is made to pass through the radially outward side of a part of the worm wheel (15) that protrudes furthest into the worm accommodation section (17), worm teeth (13) and the tooth sections of the worm wheel (15) are meshed, and the worm (14) is subsequently further inserted to a predetermined position within the worm accommodation section (17). |
