Disclosed is a method of persistent current mode splicing of second generation REBCO high temperature superconductors by inserting REBCO materials between REBCO superconducting layers. The method of splicing of a second generation REBCO high temperature superconductor in accordance with the present invention in the method of splicing of a second generation REBCO high temperature superconductor including REBCO (REBa_2Cu_3O_(7-x), wherein RE is a rare-earth element, 0<=x<=0.6) high temperature superconducting layers and stabilization layer, is characterized that a superconducting layer of one second generation REBCO high temperature superconductor and a superconducting layer of the other second generation REBCO high temperature superconductor are joined in being overlapped opposite each other or the superconducting layer of each of the second generation REBCO high temperature superconductor and a superconducting layer of a third REBCO high temperature superconductor are joined in bridge opposite each other, and comprises a step of performing a joint by applying a pressure and heat on a joint region being a thin film in a plate form or REBCO material of a powder compact inserted between superconducting layers; and performing a heat treatment for restoring an oxygen of the superconducting layers of the joint region after the joint. |
