The device relates to computer technology. In functional terms, the work station is a computer of the "thin client" (TC) type, comprising a central part in the form of a processor and a memory which stores critical data and is hardware-protected against unauthorized transcription of said data, and a peripheral part in the form of interfaces for the connection both of the TC to a network and of peripheral equipment of the user's workplace to the TC. The results of the invention - making it simpler and less expensive to update systems, and increasing the level of information security - are achieved in that the central part and the peripheral part of said work station are in the form of two units, which are equipped with electrical connectors, in separate housings, forming, upon electrical connection and mechanical interlinking, a compact assembly which is geometrically similar to the housing of a monoblock TC, wherein the unit of the central part is mobile, while the unit of the peripheral part is stationary. |
