An optical device, provided with: a light guide plate for guiding light in a plane parallel to an emission surface; and a plurality of light converging parts into which light guided by the light guide plate enters, each of the light converging parts having an optical surface for causing emission light in a direction essentially converging on a single convergence point or convergence line in space or diverging from a single convergence point or convergence line in space to be emitted from the emission surface. The light converging parts are formed along a respective predetermined line in a plane parallel to the emission surface. The convergence point or the convergence line differs between the light converging parts. The convergence points or the convergence lines gather to form an image in the space. |
