PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely restore power generation capability of a fuel cell stack while effectively using a fuel gas.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell stack 10; a hydrogen gas supply passage 31 connected to an inlet of a hydrogen gas passage 30 formed in the fuel cell stack; and a hydrogen gas supply valve 35 that is disposed in the hydrogen gas supply passage, intermittently supplies a hydrogen gas at a predetermined interval to the fuel cell stack, and is capable of changing a supply flow rate and supply time while keeping the interval. The fuel cell system determines whether or not malfunction of power generation is generated in the fuel cell stack and performs differential pressure increase control so as to set, when it is determined that malfunction of power generation is generated in the fuel cell stack, the supply flow rate to be large and the supply time to be short to increase differential pressure between pressure at the inlet of the fuel gas passage and that at an outlet of the fuel gas passage while approximately keeping a fuel gas amount supplied to the fuel cell stack.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
