PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support device which can precisely specify distance which can be actually secured between an own vehicle and obstacle, and make the precise distance between the own vehicle and obstacle which cannot be easily understood in a bird's eye view image, understandable.SOLUTION: A drive support device comprises: an obstacle shape specification part 16 for specifying a shape expanding in a horizontal direction on each height position of an obstacle, based on a measurement result of a laser radar unit 6, acquired by a measurement result acquisition part 15; and an inter shortest portion distance specification part 18 for specifying inter shortest portion distance, in which distance between portions on a same height position of the own vehicle and obstacle becomes shortest, based on a shape extending in a horizontal direction on each height position of the own vehicle specified by own vehicle shape information stored in an own vehicle shape storage part 17, and the shape expanding in the horizontal direction of the obstacle on each height position, specified in the obstacle shape specification part 16. A display processing part 19 displays a marker on a position corresponding to the inter shortest portion distance in a direction where the obstacle exists to an own vehicle image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
