Class 106(5) A device for delivering measured quantities of substances includes at least two hopper-like containers 1, 2 carried by a base comprising two vertically spaced members 5, 6, the upper member having at least two apertures 11, 12 one in alignment with an outlet from each container, whilst the lower member has a single discharge aperture 16 therethrough, and means 10 movably mounted between the members and having at least two passages, such as 13, therethrough, each passage forming a measuring chamber which can be brought by movement of the means 10 into register successively with one of the apertures in the upper member and the discharge aperture in the lower member. The passages in the means 10 are so arranged that one is in the charging position while the other is in the discharging position and the means 10 is pivotally mounted between the members 5, 6 and provided with a handle 15 for manual operation. The device may be used for dispensing dental amalgam in which case the container 1 contains an alloy mixture while the container 2 contains mercury. The capacity of the chamber 14 may be adjusted by means of a screw 18 which projects radially into the chamber. |
