PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport device in which the sheet transport state can be more correctly grasped, and a control method and a control program of the same.SOLUTION: An image formation device as a sheet transport device comprises: a sheet feeding roller 154 which sequentially supplies a plurality of sheets placed on a document tray 151 to a transport path TR; an upstream side sensor 55 which detects the presence/absence of the sheet transported along the transport path TR at a position on the downstream side of the sheet feeding roller 154 along the transport path TR; and an ultrasonic sensor 57 which detects the presence/absence of the occurrence of multi-feeding on the basis of the intensity of the received ultrasonic wave at a position on the downstream side of the upstream side sensor 55 along the transport path TR.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
