PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide microbial oils produced by microorganisms exhibiting high productivity and desirable long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid profiles, and methods of utilizing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a microbial oil comprising at least about 20 wt.% of eicosapentaenoic acid, and less than about 5 wt.% each of arachidonic acid, docosapentaenoic acid n-6, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, eicosenoic acid, erucic acid and stearidonic acid, produced by microorganisms isolated from the natural world. Also provided are human foods, cosmetics or pharmaceutical compositions and animal feeds which contain the microbial oil.SELECTED DRAWING: None
