PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide eye drops comprising sodium cromoglicate which exhibits immediate and powerful antipruritic effect, and in which eye-ache and unpleasant stimulation are reduced.SOLUTION: The invention provides a novel eye drop composition which alleviates, by containing menthol to sodium cromoglicate and antihistamines, stimulative unpleasant eye-ache caused by sodium cromoglicate when applying eye drops, and which powerfully inhibits ophthalmic itch from immediately after applying the eye drops by further enhancing the immediate antipruritic effect of the antihistamines. The eye drop composition comprises: 0.5 to 5% (w/v) of sodium cromoglicate; 0.005 to 0.1%, preferably 0.01 to 0.05%, which is different depending on the kind, of antihistamines; and 0.001 to 0.1%, preferably 0.002 to 0.05% of menthol. The pH is adjusted to 4.0 to 7.0, preferably to 4.5 to 6.0. The osmotic pressure is adjusted to 0.5 to 5 pressure ratio, preferably to 0.8 to 2 pressure ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
