Provided is a work machine that can prevent an engine from restarting from an idle stop state contrary to the intent of an operator. This hydraulic shovel is provided with: a display device (52) that displays a confirmation screen (58) that allows the operator to confirm whether or not to restart an engine (32) from an idle stop state; and an input device (54) by which the operator inputs an engine restart instruction and which is linked with the confirmation screen (58) display. A vehicle body controller (100) has a restart control unit (118) that restarts the engine (32) in response to the engine restart instruction inputted via the input device (54).
