This imaging system contains: a plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements that emit light of multiple colors, including light of a prescribed color for illuminating a photographic subject; a light quantity detection unit that detects the quantity of light emitted by each of the semiconductor light-emitting elements; an imaging element that takes an optical image of the photographic subject; a control unit that sets a light-quantity control pattern corresponding to the imaging operation of the imaging element and, on the basis of the light-quantity control pattern that is set, drives a reference semiconductor light-emitting element that emits light of the prescribed color; an exposure period setting unit that sets the exposure period of the light-quantity detection unit on the basis of the light-quantity control pattern; and a color balance adjustment unit that adjusts the color balance of the light of multiple colors by driving, on the basis of the light-quantity control pattern and the quantity of the light of multiple colors detected during the exposure period of the light-quantity detection unit, the semiconductor light-emitting elements other than the reference semiconductor light-emitting element. |
