The invention relates to a device (1) for applying a stimulus for transcutaneous electrical stimulation to the surface of a portion of the human ear (2), said device having a number of electrodes (3, 4), which are arranged at or in an electrode support (5), wherein the device (1) comprises a control apparatus (6), which controls or regulates the establishment of a potential difference between the electrodes (3, 4), wherein the device (1) comprises signalling means (7), which are able to indicate or specify a signal which is dependent on the prevailing resistance between the electrodes (3, 4) when a potential difference is applied and when the device (1) is attached onto or into the ear (3), wherein the signalling means (7) comprises a sound generator (7') and a loudspeaker element (7''), wherein the signalling means (7) is embodied in such a way that it can convert a signal dependent on the measured resistance into an associated sound signal by means of the sound generator (7'), wherein the sound signal can be output by way of the loudspeaker element (7''). In order to be able to find the best possible contact quality for the stimulation in a simple manner, the invention provides for the sound generator (7') to be embodied in such a way that it generates a sound signal in a manner dependent on a change in the measured resistance within a predetermined time. |
