METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPENSATING DAILY JUMPS EXISTED IN THE PROCESSING OF GPS CARRIER PHASE DATA

The present invention relates to a compensation method of improving time and frequency comparison performance by compensating daily-jump occurring when generating GPS carrier data in a GPS receiver. A compensation method of the daily-jump associated with one example of the present invention comprises: a collecting step of collecting raw data including the carrier data with the GPS receiver; a calculating step of calculating the daily-jump existing in the carrier data by using one of compensation algorithms; a compensating step of generating compensated data compensating at least a part of daily-jump existing in the carrier data from the raw data by using the calculated daily-jump; and a comparing step of determining whether a compensation condition is satisfied or not by comparing the compensated data and the raw data. The compensation condition is that a difference extracted by using the compensated data and the raw data is equal to or smaller than a predetermined threshold, and the GPS receiver determines adoption of the compensated data based on the determination of the comparison step.
