The present invention provides a chattering reducing device capable of reducing chattering generated due to a phenomenon in which a work roll is forced off by suppressing the phenomenon which is the existing problem. The chattering reducing device, which is a device to suppress chattering generated due to the phenomenon in which the work roll is forced off due to a collision between the work roll and a frame in a rolling stand, comprises: a magnet installed in a chock of the work roll; a distance measuring sensor installed in an inner surface of the frame, providing a distance detecting signal detecting a separation distance between the inner surface of the frame and the work roll; and a work roll position controller generating a magnetic force with a same polarity or different polarity from the magnet in accordance with a level of the distance detecting signal, and controlling a position of the work roll by changing the position of the chock. |
