The present invention relates to a touch input device. According to the present invention, the touch input device comprises: a touch sensor panel including a plurality of driving electrodes and a plurality of receiving electrodes; a driving part to apply a driving signal to the driving electrodes; a detection unit that receives a reception signal including information on capacitance varied depending on the touch of an object to a touch surface of the touch sensor panel; a reference potential layer spaced part from the touch sensor panel by a first distance; and a control unit that allows the detection unit to detect a touch position on the touch surface based on at least one of mutual-capacitance variation and self-capacitance variation depending on the variation of the first distance, and to detect the pressure of the touch based on one of the mutual-capacitance variation depending on the variation of the first distance, the self-capacitance variation depending on the variation of the first distance, and an area of the touch, in a first driving mode. |
