PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MR sensor for card readers, capable of detecting presence of magnetic data recorded on a magnetic stripe of a card when installed in a card reader, and of preventing unauthorized acquisition of magnetic information by criminals and reducing cost.SOLUTION: An MR sensor 10 has serially connected resistors R1, R2 disposed at a position where a first track 2c passes, and serially connected resistors R3, R4 disposed at a position where a second track 2d passes, where the resistors R2 and R4 are connected to a power supply and the resistors R1 and R3 are grounded. Output of the MR sensor 10 corresponds to a potential difference between a first midpoint C1 between the serially connected resistors R1, R2 and a second midpoint C2 between the serially connected resistors R3, R4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
