The present invention is generally directed to a resettable drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The drug delivery device comprises a housing (10),a cartridge holder (20) releasably attached to the distal end of the housing (10), a piston rod (30) engaging a housing insert (180) and a drive member (40), a dose setting member (60) guided within the housing (10) to allow rotation of the dose setting member (60) during dose setting and dose dispensing,a clutch (120) for rotationally coupling the drive member (40) and the dose setting member (60),and a locking element (150) which is rotationally constrained to the housing (10) and is axially movable relative to the housing (10) between a proximal dose setting position and a distal resetting position. According to the invention the locking element (150) is axially movable relative to the housing (10) from its proximal dose setting position, in which the locking element (150) is rotationally constrained to the drive member (40), into a distal dose dispensing position, wherein the locking element (150) is rotationally de-coupled from the drive member (40), when the locking element (150) is in its distal dose dispensing position or in its distal resetting position. |
