PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device having a position detection part, capable of surely detecting the passing position of an intruder while increasing the sensitivity margin of a detection sensor with a compact and simple configuration.SOLUTION: An opposed detection sensor S includes a first height detection sensor 2 having a plurality of pairs of first transmitters and first receivers arranged to face each other and configured to detect the first height of an intruder by a highest first receiver which has detected the intruder based on the blocking of a plurality of alert lines only in a rough horizontal direction when seen from a side, and a second height detection sensor 3 having a plurality of second receivers arranged to face a single second transmitter and configured to detect the second height of the intruder by a highest second receiver which has detected the intruder based on the blocking of a plurality of alert areas of an oblique direction to the other when seen from the side. A position detection part 7 executes calculation to detect the passing position of the intruder in the alert area based on the alert distance of the alert area, the first height of the intruder, and the second height of the intruder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
