PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the length in a sub-scan direction of a detection pattern for color shift.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus which includes a rotationally driven photoreceptor, light irradiation means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor by irradiation with light, and an image carrier to which a developer image obtained by developing the electrostatic latent image is transferred and can form a latent image pattern which is an electrostatic latent image for correction and a detection pattern which is a developer image for correction includes first detection means for detecting the latent image pattern formed on the photoreceptor, second detection means for detecting the detection pattern formed on the image carrier, and correction means for correcting a second detection result with a first detection result on the basis of the first detection result by the first detection means and the second detection result by the second detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12 |
