PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for generating clear anatomical images of regions of interest of a patient or a specimen in-vivo by noninvasively hyperpolarizing the regions of interest of the patient or the specimen.SOLUTION: The system comprises: a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus for indirectly hyperpolarizing at least one unhyperpolarized portion of a specimen; a fluidly sealable housing comprising a fluidly sealable inner chamber accommodating the specimen, and an outer chamber encompassing the fluidly sealable inner chamber, wherein the inner chamber is arranged inside the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and coupled with an air conditioning system for maintaining the in-vivo environment of the accommodated specimen, and wherein the outer chamber includes an inlet port for introducing a hyperpolarized material to replenish the hyperpolarized material during an imaging process and an outlet port for discharging the hyperpolarized material; and an RF transmitting coil which is arranged in close proximity to the outside of the housing and coupled with an RF signal generating system for electromagnetic coupling between the hyperpolarized material and at least one portion of the specimen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
