PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the power consumption control method of the power amplifier of a base station in a radio communication system using an orthogonal frequency division multiple access method.SOLUTION: The power amplifier power consumption control method includes: a confirmation step of confirming scheduling information related to a radio resource; a determination step of determining the presence/absence of a symbol to which user data are not allocated by using the confirmation result; and a bias control step of, when there exists the symbol to which the user data are not allocated, turning off a bias to be applied to a power amplifier in a symbol section to which the user data are not allocated. The base station is configured to control the bias of the power amplifier to be turned off in the symbol section where the user data do not exist. Thus, it is possible to optimize the power consumption of the base station power amplifier.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
