PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prevent the deterioration in resolution and accuracy of images when the images are formed according to a plurality of visible light rays and infrared light rays which have different wavelength bands.SOLUTION: By lighting, in a repetitive lighting timing manner, a light source that emits light rays having a plurality of different wavelength bands including at least a visible light region and an infrared light region to irradiate, in the repetitive timing manner, a bank note with the light rays having the plurality of different wavelength bands including at least the visible light region and the infrared light region, and by using light receiving elements each having a band-pass filter that allows only a light ray of a wavelength in a range corresponding to each wavelength band of the light source to pass, light reception intensities of light rays received from the bank note and having wavelengths in the ranges corresponding to the wavelength bands of the light source are simultaneously acquired to form image data on the basis of the light reception intensities of the wavelength bands acquired.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
