PORTABLE IMAGING SYSTEM USING ULTRA COMPACT ENDOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method that enable carriage by a cart or a person to perform an endoscopic treatment.SOLUTION: A portable display device such as a laptop personal computer is coupled with a handle having an ultra compact camera and an optical fiber illumination subsystem. An aseptic disposable portion is attached on the illumination subsystem and is inserted in a target region of a patient. An image of the target region is transmitted from the camera to a display device during execution of an endoscopic treatment, and thereby real time diagnosis during the treatment is facilitated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
