PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress scan to a plurality of channels.SOLUTION: A radio communication system 1 has a plurality of base stations AP and a terminal station STA for executing a radio communication through a plurality of channels. The terminal station STA has a scan section 132 for executing scan to acquire an environmental information element E being information indicative of a communication environment of the base station AP capable of performing radio connection, to the whole or a part of the plurality of channels. A connection destination base station APC being the base station AP in radio connection with the terminal station STA comprises: an information acquisition section 244 for acquiring the environmental information element E from a communicable base station AP; and an information transmission section 246 for transmitting the environmental information element E acquired by the information acquisition section 244 to the terminal station STA. The terminal station STA furthermore comprises a scan control section 134 for controlling the scan section 132 so as to stop whole scan which is a scan to the whole of the plurality of channels, after the scan section 132 receives the environmental information element E transmitted from the information transmission section 246.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
