PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head that can improve a quality in writing into a magnetic disk.SOLUTION: A magnetic head 15 is arranged opposite a magnetic recording medium 12 including a recording layer having a magnetic anisotropy in a substantially perpendicular direction to a medium surface, and comprises: a main pole 154c including a soft magnetic material; a magnetic yoke 154a arranged so as to be bonded with the main pole; a coil 154b wound around a part of the magnetic yoke; a light irradiation part 155b arranged in a travelling direction of the magnetic head with respect to the main pole, and irradiating the recording layer with light; a light guide path 155a guiding light to the light irradiation part; and a distance adjustment part 156 adjusting a distance in the travelling direction of the magnetic head between the main pole and the light irradiation part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
