A cut-out assembly 1 for use in an electricity distribution network comprises a housing 2 and a meter 17 attached to the housing. The housing includes a number of input terminals for connecting to single phase inputs of an electricity supply, and a number of output terminals for connecting to cables of a consumer electricity network. A current flow path between each of the input and output terminals includes a fuse and a current transformer. An output from the current transformer is fed to the meter. The cut-out assembly provides a compact device which incorporates all the necessary protection for metering and fuse protection. The components are able to be arranged within the housing so that the assembly has a significantly reduced height, thereby providing improved access for both incoming and outgoing cables. |
