<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metalized film capacitor with an excellent humidity resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the metalized film capacitor, at least one of metal vapor deposition electrodes 4a and 4b of a pair of metalized films 1 and 2 contains aluminum as a main constituent, and the surface thereof is formed with a MgAl<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>film. This arrangement prevents oxidation and capacitance change. The MgAl<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>film also has a high humidity resistance even with a thin film; thereby the film thickness of the metal vapor deposition electrode can be reduced while increasing the self-healing performance.
