The invention relates to a method for operating a coolant circuit (1) of a vehicle, wherein carbon dioxide is the coolant flowing through the coolant circuit (1), wherein coolant is condensed by a compressor (2) and then cooled from a high temperature level to a medium temperature level in a coolant/liquid heat exchanger (3), said cooling action being achieved by the pumping of a cooling liquid through the coolant/liquid heat exchanger (3).
