The invention aims to provide an electronic component installation system and a method for generating production record information in the electronic component installation system, and even if the component installation operation is carried out with a substrate without additional substrate identification information as the object, the proper production record information can be obtained to ensure the required tracing capability. Bar code data (22) of a substrate which are read and determined from a bar code formed on the substrate in advance through a bar code reader are used as a substrate ID (20A), and as for a substrate without a bar code, time data (23) generated by a substitute identification information generation part is used as a substrate ID (20B). The time data (23) at least comprises data information of a time point into a component installation and production line and used as substitute information of the bar code data (22). According to the electronic component installation system, production record information achieving the correspondence of production material identification information is generated and stored, and the production material identification information determines production materials used in the installation of components of substrates corresponding to the substrate ID (20A, 20B). |
