A motor-driven pump comprises an impeller housing 10 having a removable closure-plate 15 provided with an inlet 17, an annular housing end member 32, a hollow cylinder 40 of non- magnetic material and a cover 31, each extending between the housing 10 and the member 32 to form separate chambers for the motor rotor 52 and motor stator 46, and a closure-plate 35 carrying a shaft bearing 38 and having a cylindrical shoulder 43 in engagement with the interior of the cylinder 40. Sealing rings 42, 45 of natural or synthetic rubber are provided. Bearings 24, 25 may be of rubber or wood, and the bearings 24, 25, 38 may be lubricated by the pumped fluid. A thrust collar 55 may be provided.
