Yarns, threads, cords, fabrics or loose fibres formed of cotton are impregnated with one of the following: 3 - isopropoxypropylamine, 3 - methoxypropylamine, 3 - 31 - iminobispropylamine, 3 - dimethylaminopropylamine or 3 - isopropylaminopropylamine in liquid phase (including aqueous solution) at normal temperature and pressure. The material may be immersed for a period in the liquid amine in an open vessel or sprayed with the liquid and left for a period, and then may be washed in water and dried. The treatment improves the tensile strength and elongation of the materials. Specification 767,811 is referred to.
