A revolving vane compressor 100 comprising a sleeve 102 having a first axis 110, a rotor 104 disposed within the sleeve and having a second axis 112 offset from the first, a primary vane 106 connecting the sleeve and the rotor, at least one secondary vane 108, a plurality of chambers 116, 118 defined by the vanes and a plurality of suction and discharge ports 120, 122, 124, 126 each associated with one of the chambers, and being operable to produce a plurality of discharges per each complete revolution of the rotor and sleeve. Preferably, a first end of at least one secondary vane is in sliding engagement with the rotor and a first end of the primary vane is in sliding engagement with a shoe 132 pivotably disposed in the rotor. Also claimed is an air-conditioning unit and a refrigeration unit comprising the compressor. The compressor produces less noise and vibration compared to a single vane compressor. |
