A liquid ejection head comprising: a substrate having a heating section and a protective film that has an area overlapping with the heating section when viewed from a direction orthogonal to a face of the substrate, an electrode capable of generating a voltage between the protective film and the electrode; a flow path formed between a surface of the protective film and a surface of the electrode; and an ejection port, liquid being ejected from the ejection port with use of heat generated by the heating section via the protective film, wherein the protective film and the electrode are arranged such that a distance in the flow path between the area of the protective film and the electrode corresponding to the area satisfies 1<a/b≦2 when a maximum distance is set as “a” and a minimum distance is set as “b”.
