The present invention relates to an induction heat cooking apparatus, and more specifically, to an induction heat cooking apparatus including a plurality of switching elements and a plurality of resonant circuits, and to a method for driving the induction heat cooking apparatus. The induction heat cooking apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a rectification unit which rectifies input voltage and outputs DC voltage; a DC capacitor which is connected to both ends of the rectification unit; a plurality of switching elements which switch the DC voltage output via the rectification unit; a plurality of heating coils which heat a cooking container under the control of the switching elements; and a control unit which controls the switching elements. The heating coils include a first heating coil, a second heating coil, and a third heating coil. The other end of a resonant capacitor whose one end is connected to the second heating coil is connected to any one of a positive power supply terminal and negative power supply terminal of the rectification unit. The other end of a resonant capacitor whose one end is connected to the third heating coil is connected to the other end of the positive power supply terminal and negative power supply terminal of the rectification unit. The control unit controls the switching elements so that the second heating coil and the third heating coil are connected in parallel and operate simultaneously.
