A water level sensor for a washing machine comprises: a cover body consisting of a cylindrical body whose upper portion is opened, and having a pressure chamber formed on a lower surface thereof; a case body which is mounted on the cover body, provides an operational space with the cover body, and comprises a bobbin vertically erected on a middle of an upper surface thereof; a diaphragm disposed in the case body and expanded or restored by an air pressure in the pressure chamber formed in the cover body; ferrite of a tubular structure moving vertically in the bobbin, wherein a lower end thereof is mounted on an upper surface of the diaphragm, and the upper end thereof is accommodated in the bobbin; an elastic member which is disposed in the bobbin and supplies an elastic force to the ferrite; and a guide unit which is disposed in the case body, comes in contact with at least one surface among an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface of the ferrite, and guides a vertical movement of the ferrite. Accordingly, the ferrite is accurately moved in a vertical direction to improve sensing reliability. |
