The present invention relates to a pouch-type secondary battery, and more particularly, to a pouch-type secondary battery including: an electrode assembly on which an electrode tab is joined; a pouch for accommodating the electrode assembly such that a portion of the electrode tab protrudes to the outside; and an insulating tape for surrounding the electrode tab on the portion at which the electrode tab and the pouch cross. The insulating tape is formed to have a width greater than that of the electrode tab, the portion which dose not overlap the pouch includes a pouch joining part which is formed by cutting a portion between both ends of the tape and the electrode tab up to the pouch in the lengthwise direction of the electrode tab, and the pouch joining part is joined to the pouch by being folded toward the pouch. Thus, the pouch-type secondary battery has excellent insulating and sealing properties, reduces an area of the insulating tape exposed to the outside of the pouch, and thus can minimize interference due to the insulation tape when the battery is manufactured. |
