PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is inexpensive and excellent in reliability and durability, and that is capable of securely preventing the generation of electrostatic offset.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a transfer unit 203 that transfers a toner image on a recording sheet P that passes through a transfer nip part Nt; and a fixation device 23 that makes the recording sheet P having the toner image transferred thereon pass through a fixation nip part Nf to fix the toner image. Between the transfer unit 203 and the fixation device 23 is provided a prefixation conveyance guide 107 that is conductive and guides the recording sheet P between the transfer unit 203 and the fixation device 23. An edge part 107e of the prefixation conveyance guide 107 is disposed higher than the straight line connecting the transfer nip part Nt and the fixation nip part Nf, and the sheet conveyance speed at the fixation nip part Nf is set higher than the sheet conveyance speed at the transfer nip part Nt.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
