PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection cover easily satisfying a required specification about a residual magnetism characteristic while keeping a press formed state as it is.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a bearing device 11 comprising a bearing having an inner raceway 12 formed with an inner raceway orbit plane 12A at an outer circumferential surface, an outer raceway 13 formed with an outer raceway orbit plane 13A at an inner circumferential surface, and rollers 14 rotated between the inner raceway orbit plane 12A and the outer raceway orbit plane 13A; a magnetic encoder 8 positioned at one end part in an axial direction of the bearing and fixed to the inner raceway 12; and a magnetic sensor fixed to the outer raceway 13 to detect rotation of the magnetic encoder 8 while being faced against a magnetic pole of the magnetic encoder 8. A cup-shaped protection cover 1 press fitted into the outer raceway 13 to cover the magnetic encoder 8 and present between the magnetic encoder 8 and the magnetic sensor is molded cold by a press working a plate member of austenite stainless steel including nickel of 8.5 wt% or more and 13 wt% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
