PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable formation of high-quality images by classifying charging members having the same standard and different charging characteristics and built in a process cartridge into groups during attachment of the cartridge and changing conditions according to characteristics in the groups.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 includes a process cartridge 200 that can be removably attached to an apparatus body 10a having a photoreceptor drum 100 and a charging roller 700 as one body, and a charging voltage generation circuit 500 that outputs a charging voltage to be applied to the charging roller 700. The image forming apparatus further includes a feedback current detection circuit 650 that detects a feedback current generated through the photoreceptor drum 100 when the charging voltage is output, and a conductive contact/separation member 710 that selects the type of the charging roller 700 on the basis of the feedback current detected by the feedback current detection circuit 650.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
