PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which involves a client device that registers a file entity on a file server and a file information management server that manages file information, and which features a mechanism that provides control such that the client device does not register files in excess of the maximum capacity.SOLUTION: A file management system is provided having a file server 103, file information management server 102, and credential issuance server 104. The file information management server 102, in response to a file registration request from a client PC, receives a credential, issued by the credential issuance server 104, containing information on a file size that can be registered on the file server 103, and provides the same to the client PC. The file server 103 receives a file registration request that is based on the credential from the client PC, and determines whether to register the file or not on the basis of the credential and a size of the file requested for registration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
