PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small construction machine on which a silencer and an oxidation catalyst can be installed without enlarging an engine compartment.SOLUTION: In a mini shovel according to the invention, there are arranged an oxidation catalyst 13 to purify nitrogen oxide contained in an exhaust gas emitted from an engine 11 and a silencer 14 to reduce an exhaust sound of the engine 11, in a space surrounded by a revolving frame 10 to support a work device 3 so that the work device can rise and fall, an external cover 17, which is placed substantially parallel with the revolving frame 10 and forms a top face of an engine compartment 9, a plate 15 placed at a rear part of a driver seat 7, a hydraulic oil tank 16, and a counter weight 8, for example, in an installation space 20 surrounded by the revolving frame 10, the external cover 17, the plate 15, the engine 11 and a hydraulic pump 12 and the counter weight 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
