PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a position of a rotor of a motor.SOLUTION: A position estimation device configured to estimate the position of the rotor of a motor 140 includes: a position/speed estimation part 133 for estimating a rotational position of the rotor of the motor 140 while using magnetic flux estimates λand λof the motor 140 which are calculated by inputting voltage command values Vand Vand coil current values Iand Ito a motor model that is obtained by identifying the motor 140; and a magnetic flux distortion generation part 134 for deriving magnetic flux deviation amounts ▵λ(θ) and ▵λ(θ) caused by distortion of a magnetic flux waveform of the motor 140 corresponding to a rotational position θthat is estimated by the position/speed estimation part 133. The position/speed estimation part 133 corrects the magnetic flux estimates λand λon the basis of the magnetic flux deviation amounts ▵λ(θ) and ▵λ(θ), and the estimated rotational position θis corrected on the basis of corrected magnetic flux estimates λand λand outputted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
