PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet sterilization device with a self-cleaning function, e.g., when used as a device for subjecting the fluid to be sterilized such as water including microorganisms and floating matters, capable of remarkably reducing the frequency of decomposition cleaning and automatic cleaning, and, depending on the situation, capable of obviating the installing of an automatic cleaning apparatus.SOLUTION: Provided is an ultraviolet sterilization device comprising: a sterilization chamber where the fluid to be sterilized stays for a prescribed time; a light source where ultraviolet rays having a sterilization action are emitted; and a window part composed of "a window material with the window material body having ultraviolet transparency as the main part" separating them. In the device, a photocatalytic coat layer is formed on the surface thereof without damaging the ultraviolet transparency of the window material body in the window material body, further, the window material body is composed of material having transparency to the excitation light of the light catalyst, and further, as the light source, a light source emitting ultraviolet rays and photocatalytic excitation light is used, or, an another light source of emitting photocatalytic excitation light is used as the above light source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
